2007 Stoller JV Estate Pinot Noir from the Dundee Hills of Oregon

Letting the 2007 Stoller JV Estate Pinot Noir from the Dundee Hills in Oregon breathe while I cut into that Watermelon and prepare some homemade fruit salsa to go with the Grilled Salmon this wonderful Sundayafternoon. Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend and remember those vets tomorrow! My dear father served in the Navy and my great grandfather was captured during a manuever in Germany and was a prisoner of war for 6 months before the Allied troops freed him and his mates. We have a lot to learn from those brave fellows! Now, if I can only get someone to get those damn watermarks off the stemware....

2006 Rosenblum Cellar's Carla's Reserve Zinfandel

Got some chicken on the grill smothered with homemade BBQ sauce tonite and just opened a Zin to go with it....

From the Rosenblum Cellar's website:

"This is one of the most exotic Zinfandels in our extensive portfolio. Dark in color, the wine exhibits a huge core of black cherry fruit with elements of wild berries, cassis and vanilla bean in the bouquet. On the palate, soft and round tannins support flavors of ripe black cherry and blackberry with hints of spiced plum."

Letting the Shiraz breath a bit as the Ribeyes get some grill marks. Roasted rosemary potato chunks, sauteed mushrooms, grilled red bell peppers and asparagus round out the Mother's Day fare tonight.
